Commontide
Almighty God, through the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, you revealed the way of eternal life to every race and nation: Pour out this gift anew, that by the preaching of the Gospel your salvation may reach to the ends of the earth; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

This prayer asks God to pour out the Holy Spirit again on the world's mission, as at Pentecost. Appointed in ACNA 2019 for World Mission Sunday (the second to last Sunday of Epiphany), it is drawn from the same collect used for Pentecost itself, and echoes an ancient Latin prayer asking God to send the Spirit's gifts "through the whole expanse of the world."
