Commontide
Morning & Evening Prayer
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your Name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial, and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and for ever. Amen.

The Lord's Prayer is the prayer Jesus taught his disciples, recorded in Matthew 6:9-13 and Luke 11:2-4, the most ancient text in any Christian liturgy. The modern form here follows the ELLC ecumenical translation of 1988. Its closing doxology has a separate history: absent from the oldest Gospel manuscripts, it was already in liturgical use by the early second century.
