Collect for Saint Simon and Saint Jude

Grant, O God, that as your apostles Simon and Jude were faithful and zealous in their mission, so we may with ardent devotion make known the love and mercy of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Deus, qui nos per beatos Apostolos tuos Simonem et Judam ad agnitionem tui nominis venire tribuisti: da nobis eorum gloriam sempiternam et proficiendo celebrare, et celebrando proficere.

Draft — AI-assisted research under editorial review.

This collect was newly composed for the 1979 US Episcopal Book of Common Prayer, replacing the prayer Anglicans had used for more than four centuries. The ACNA 2019 recast its opening from a thanksgiving into a direct petition while keeping the heart of the prayer intact.
