Commontide
Almighty God, whose blessed apostles Peter and Paul glorified you by their martyrdom: Grant that your Church, instructed by their teaching and example, and knit together in unity by your Spirit, may ever stand firm upon the one foundation, which is Jesus Christ our Lord; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

This collect for the joint feast of Peter and Paul (June 29) is a 20th-century American composition, first appearing in the 1979 Book of Common Prayer. It frames the Church's foundation as Christ alone and is distinct from the older "feed thy flock" collect that earlier prayer books appointed for Saint Peter's Day.
