Commontide
O God, by your grace you have called us in this Diocese to be a good and godly fellowship of faith. Bless our Bishop(s) your servant, and other clergy, and all our people. Grant that your Word may be truly preached and truly heard, your Sacraments faithfully administered and faithfully received. By your Spirit, fashion our lives according to the example of your Son, and grant that we may show the power of your love to all among whom we live; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

A twentieth-century prayer for the local church, asking God to bless the bishop, clergy, and people of a diocese so that his Word would be genuinely preached and heard, his Sacraments rightly given and received, and his love shown to all around them. It entered Anglican worship in the 1979 Episcopal BCP and was carried, with slight revision, into the ACNA 2019 BCP.
